AmongRoots is the name of this tourist, environmental and historic initiative created around fifteen emblematic trees (and groves) that can be found in Potries and its municipality.

These are beautiful specimen of great beauty and charm, each of which shows a particular trait according to shape, size or old age; not forgetting the historical events they have witnessed. AmongRoots aims to spread these wooden giants historical and cultural heritage value among the population, as well as to show their natural beauty, using free time activities emphasizing knowledge and respect for nature.

AmongRoots as an initiative has emerged from Potries Town Hall, the Madrilla Association and the Col.lectiu Nostra Terra, which invite you to enjoy this heritage while you locate the trees through paper, vertical signposting or techonological means. Morevover, the information about each tree is enhanced with enthno botanic stories that show the relationship between the tree and its people; how the tree has been used, the traditions around it, its historical facts, etc.

This ecotourist route aims at improving the knowledge about these special trees, as well as to make people aware of the need to preserve trees, woods, groves and forests everywhere.
